Thanks to the political scene in Virginia, the country is talking about “blackface” again. Now, Katy Perry has been hit with the issue.
A design from Perry’s shoe collection has been pulled from the store shelves. The sandals and loafer feature huge eyes and exaggerated red lips. The shoes have been available since 2017, but due to the previously mentioned issues in Virginia, the issue is more serious than ever.
Katy responded to the criticism saying, “I was saddened when it was brought to my attention that it (the shoes) was being compared to painful images reminiscent of blackface. We have immediately removed them.”

Ok, can we just make this a rule that ANY product, service or person that is NOT Black will NOT create, promote or apply any combination of BLACK + FACE
