Our friends at Wheeler Mission are in great need of help. The winter weather and extreme temperatures are driving more and more people to their shelters. Wheeler is sheltering around 900 people per night. That is WELL BEYOND their typical numbers. Our community is stepping up and bringing in loads of donations of clothing, blankets, coats, food etc. The problem is that Wheeler does not have the manpower to sort and organize the donations in order to put them to use. Their donation centers have piles in every available space and they are overwhelmed!
Here’s what Wheeler needs:
1. Groups as small as 2 or as large as 40 to help sort donations!
2. Date / Time: Monday – Friday 8:30am – 4:00pm. They ask for a minimum of two hours but you are welcome to stay as long as you are able! Every day in February is open right now (With the exception of WEd. Feb. 20th)
3. Location: Indianapolis distribution centers in downtown and on the near south side
Companies & organizations can use this as a great team building opportunity as well. If you would be willing to mobilize a group from your organization please e-mail OnealyaGronstal@WheelerMission.org
